Value management

Value Management seeks to provide optimum function for a reasonable cost.

In some instances spending more can generate inherent, longer term benefits, for example use of rigid MVHR ductwork. Making this change is more costly, however the benefit you get in terms of the lifespan and resistance to damage prior, during and after to installation is well worth the initial cost.

Being able to manage value through in house capabilities is extremely important; it ensures the same quality is maintained throughout.

The use of a ‘tester unit’ can also provide great value with any mistakes are made in one unit only and therefore, not replicated across all the units. Although this may result in a Programme which is slightly longer and therefore attracting an inflated preliminaries total it does reduce the amount of mistakes being made which can prove extremely costly on this type of build.
